Who Are We?

DDTI are a loose but definitely not fast association of people with some time to invest in helping kids come by addresses. We understand that an address is the absolutely unavoidable basic requirement for taking part in the Great British Stakeholder Society.

Without an address:
Community basics like health, education, employment and security of person and possessions become very difficult to access. Setting up a bank account becomes impossible. Without address linked utility bills an individual is a non-person and the catch 22 of finding a home without having a previous home kicks in. Current levels of housing benefit cover barely half of the current average levels of rent.

While we applaud the efforts of national organisations like the excellent Shelter - we feel local problems place responsibilities on local people to find local solutions.

In a society literally riddled with initiatives, structures and inter-departmental synergistically designed core value delivery systems we take the unashamedly dinosaurist stance that 'charity begins at home' and 'if you want anything doing, do it your (insert preferred expletive) self.'

So, on the question of who we are: We are people from round here who, given a few wrong turns and different sliding doors would be needing help instead of offering it. We prefer doing to saying. We could be YOU.
